Frantz Berthuad '08
Chief Cancer Center Officer at University Medical Center of El Paso
Frantz M. Berthaud, MPH, FACHE is a nationally recognized healthcare executive and a sought-after speaker with a deep passion for advancing equity in cancer care. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Oncology Services at University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC), where he leads operations and strategy for the hospital鈥檚 oncology services, including the development of the Steve and Nancy Fox Cancer Center.
With over 15 years of diverse experience in healthcare鈥攊ncluding clinical research, operations, management, strategy, and education鈥擣rantz brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to healthcare leadership. His prior roles include Market Director of Oncology for The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, and several leadership positions at the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.
A dynamic and engaging speaker, Frantz has been featured at leading industry events and associations such as the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Congress, TiECON East, National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He is also a frequent podcast guest, sharing insights on purpose, access, cancer care, and executive leadership in the healthcare space.
Frantz serves as an Ambassador for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), where his advocacy work has led him to testify in support of breast cancer equity legislation in Massachusetts and to meet with federal lawmakers in Washington, DC to push for policies that improve cancer care access and outcomes.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a dedicated community leader, serving on several boards including the United Way of El Paso County, ACHE of the Southwest, Southwest University, Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH), and Boston College. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Philosophy from Boston College and his Master of Public Health from BUSPH, where he also served as adjunct faculty.
When he is not living at the intersection of health equity and oncology, Frantz enjoys spending quality time with his family.聽
